15. An Attempted Change in God's Law

Jn. 17:17 – Thy word is truth.
[17] Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Prov. 23:23 – Buy the truth and sell it not.
[23] Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Heb. 13:8 – Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.
[8] Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Ps. 89:34 – My covenant (law) will I not break.
[34] My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Ex. 31:18 – Commandments written with the finger of God.
[18] And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

Matt. 5:17,18 – Jesus came to fulfill not change God’s law.
[17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Gen. 2:1-3 – Sabbath hallowed, sanctified and blessed in Eden.
[1] Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
[2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
[3] And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and

Lk. 4:16 – Jesus kept the Sabbath.
[16] And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

Acts 13:42-44 – Paul kept the Sabbath.
[42] And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
[43] Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and
Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
[44] And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

Acts 20:28-31 Apostasy in early Christianity predicted as coming into the church.
[28] Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
[29] For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
[30] Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
[31] Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

Dan. 8:12  - Truth cast to the ground.
[12] And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
Dan. 7:25 – An attempted change made in God’s law.
[25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Isa. 8:16 – Seal the law.
[16] Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
Ex. 20:8-11 – The Sabbath contains the three elements of heaven’s official Royal Seal:  God’s name, His title, and His territory.
[8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Rev. 7:1-3 – God’s people will receive the seal of the Sabbath before the end.
[1] And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
[2] And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
[3] Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Rev. 14:7, 12 – God’s last message calls us to worship the Creator and keep God’s commandments.
[7] Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
[12] Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

18. Health

3 John 1:2 – God desires that we prosper and be in health.
[2] Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

1 Thess. 5:23  - Sanctification includes body, mind, and emotions as well as spiritual faculties.
[23] And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Rom. 12:1, 2 – Present your bodies a living sacrifice unto God.
[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1 Cor. 6:19, 20 – Your body is the temple of God.
[19] What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
[20] For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Cor. 10:31 – Whatever you eat or drink, do all to the glory of God.
[31] Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Prov. 20:1 – Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging.
[1] Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

Prov. 23:29-32 – Do not drink fermented wine.  It brings sorrow, woe, and contention. It is deceptive and clouds judgment.
[29] Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
[30] They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
[31] Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
[32] At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.

Isa. 5:11 – Woe to those who are intoxicated by wine.
[11] Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

Prov. 4:17 – Excessive wine leads to violence.
[17] For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
Prov. 31:4, 5 – Wine is not for kings or princes since it perverts wise judgment.
[4] It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
[5] Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

Rev. 5:10 – Since we are kings and priests unto God, we need clear minds.
[10] And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Gen. 1:29 – God’s original diet was a vegetarian diet.
[29] And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Gen. 7:2  - Noah understood the difference between clean and unclean animals. Since at the time of the flood, God gave permission to eat the clean animals, they were brought by sevens. The unclean scavengers by twos.
[2] Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

Lev. 11:1-12 – Clean animals must have a split or divided hoof and chew the cud. Unclean animals are those like pigs that do not have the above features.  Clean sea animals must have both fins and scales.
[1] And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
[3] Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
[4] Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
[5] And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
[6] And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
[7] And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
[8] Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
[9] These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
[10] And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
[11] They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
[12] Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Isa. 66:15-17 – Those who rebel against God’s dietary standards will not be in the kingdom.
[15] For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
[16] For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
[17] They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

Isa. 65:1-5 – God links eating unclean foods to heathen idolatry.
[1] I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.
[2] I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;
[3] A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;
[4] Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
[5] Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.

Acts 10:9-16 – Peter’s sheet with all kinds of unclean animals, included rats, alligators, crocodiles. God says arise and eat.  Peter is horrified!  What does God mean?  Verse 17 indicates Peter is uncertain.
[9] On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
[10] And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
[11] And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
[12] Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
[13] And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
[14] But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
[15] And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
[16] This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
[17] Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

Acts 10:28 – Peter explains that the vision applies not to food but to calling Gentiles unclean.  In this vision, God breaks the racial barrier.  Peter is open to witness now to the Gentiles. The vision deals with the fact that through the cross all barriers between people are removed.
[28] And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Phil. 4:13 – Jesus provides spiritual strength to overcome physical habits.
[13] I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Heb. 4:15,16 – Jesus was tempted like we are. He fasted 40 days and overcame so we, too, can receive His power to overcome.
[15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
[16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

All have sinned, and come short of the character of God. We have all broken God's Ten Commandment Law of Love, both to God and our neighbors. Jesus had to pay the price for those sins on Calvary, died, and rose again on the third day! He now sits as our Great High Priest on God's throne in the Heavenly Sanctuary! Ministering for us before God so that we can be saved!

Won't You Pray the Sinners Prayer Right Now?

"Dear Jesus, please forgive me for breaking your Ten Commandments, and not being loving to you or to others. I accept your free gift of forgiveness and grace, and ask that you forgive my sins and come into my heart. Please wash my sins away in your shed blood. Cover me with your White Robe of Righteousness and save me when you come, not because of any good works I have done, but solely because of your righteous deeds. Save me by grace alone through faith and not by my own works. I ask this in Jesus name, AMEN".

20. Millennium (1000 Years of Peace)

Jn. 14: 1-3 – Jesus’ promise to return.
[1] Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
[2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Acts 1:9-11 – This same Jesus which you  have seen go into heaven shall so come in like manner.
[9] And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
[10] And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
[11] Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

1 Thess. 4:16, 17 – The righteous dead will be resurrected and along with the righteous living ascend to meet Jesus in the sky.
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Jn. 5:28, 29 – There will be two resurrections, the resurrection of life and the resurrection of damnation.
[28] Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
[29] And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

2 Thess. 1:8 – The wicked will be destroyed when Jesus returns.
[8] In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Rev. 19: 11-21 – As conquering King leading the armies of heaven Jesus will redeem His people. The wicked or unrighteous will be destroyed by the brightness of His glory.
[11] And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
[12] His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
[13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
[14] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
[15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
[16] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
[17] And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
[18] That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
[19] And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
[20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
[21] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Rev. 20:1,2 – Satan will be bound for 1000 years.
[1] And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
[2] And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

2 Pet. 2:4 – The chains are chains of darkness. Satan is bound on a desolate earth with no one to tempt.
[4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment

Rev. 20:1 – The Greek word for bottomless pit is “without form and void.” (See also Gen. 1:2)
[1] And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

Gen. 1:2
[2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Jer. 4:23-27 – The earth is desolate (without form and void) with no one inhabiting it.
[23] I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
[24] I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
[25] I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
[26] I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
[27] For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

Jer. 25:33 – The slain of the Lord shall not be buried.
[33] And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

Rev. 20:4 – The righteous dwell with God in heaven for 1000 years.  Sittiing on thrones, they participate in Judgment.
[4] And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

1 Cor. 6:2 – The saints shall judge the world.
[2] Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Rev. 20:5 – (First part)  The resurrection of the wicked to receive their final reward occurs after the 1000 years.
[5] But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Rev. 20:7 – Satan is loosed out of his prison to lead the resurrected wicked in a final attack against God.
[7] And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

Rev. 20:9 - Satan and his evil hosts are finally, completely destroyed.
[9] And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Rev. 21:1-3 – God creates a beautiful new world.
[1] And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
[2] And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
[3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

21. Heaven

Jn. 14:1-3 – Heaven is a real place.

2 Peter 3:10-13 – Our Lord has promised to create a new heavens and a new earth.
[10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
[11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
[13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Matt. 5:5 – The meek shall inherit the earth.
[5] Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Rev. 21:1-5 – The Holy City, New Jerusalem will descent from God out of heaven.
[4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
[5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Isa. 45:18 – God created this world to be inhabited.
[18] For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Mic. 4:8 – The first or original dominion will be restored to the human race.
[8] And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.

Phil. 3:21 – God will give us glorious immortal bodies. (1 Cor. 15:51-54)
[21] Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

1 Cor. 15:51-54
[51] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
[52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
[53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
[54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Isa. 35:3-6 – All physical deformities will be cured.  (The eyes of the blind will be opened, the ears of the deaf unstopped and the crippled healed.)
[3] Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
[4] Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
[5] Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
[6] Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and

Isa. 65:17 – God will create a new heavens and a new earth.
[17] For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Isa. 65:21-23 – “They shall build houses and inhabit them.  They shall plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them.”
[21] And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
[22] They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
[23] They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

Isa. 65:25 – The wolf and lamb shall feed together.  God’s new kingdom will be one of tranquil peace.
[25] The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
Matt. 8:11 – We shall fellowship with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the greatest minds of the ages forever.
[11] And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

Rev.  21:3 – God Himself shall be with us and be our God.
[3] And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Rev. 22:3, 4 – We shall lovingly serve our God forever and enjoy the closest fellowship with Him.
[3] And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
[4] And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

Rev. 21:16, 17 – God’s new city is 12,000 furlongs or 1500 miles square with wall 144 cubits or 216 feet high.
[16] And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
[17] And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

Rev. 21:18-21 – This spectacular city has walls whose foundations are magnificent gems, streets ofgold and gates of pearl.
[18] And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
[19] And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
[20] The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
[21] And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

Rev. 21:7, 8 – Lists the entry requirements for the city.
[7] He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
[8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Rev. 22:17 – And the Spirit and the Bride say come.
[17] And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

16. Sabbath Keeping

Isa. 56:2 – God grants a special blessing to those who keep the Sabbath.[2] Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Deut. 28:1, 2, 15 – God offers blessing to those who are obedient to His commandments.
[1] And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
[2] And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
[15] But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

Ex. 20:8-11 – The Sabbath is a “sanctified” day set apart from all the rest.

Lev. 23:3 – The Sabbath is called a “holy convocation” or gathering of God’s people.  It is a special designated day of worship.
[3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

Lk. 4:16 – Jesus worshiped each Sabbath, as did Paul.  (Acts 18:4)
[16] And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

Acts 18:4
[4] And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

Lev. 23:32 – The Sabbath begins at sunset Friday evening and ends at sunset Saturday evening.  (Mark 1:32)
[32] It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Mark. 1:32
[32] And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

Ex. 20:8-10 – The Sabbath is not a day for secular work.

Isa. 58:13, 14 – The Sabbath is a day to delight ourself in the Lord.  It is not a day for our own personal pleasure.  Such things as sports, secular games, or entertainment are not in harmony with the holiness of the Sabbath.
[13] If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
[14] Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Neh. 13:15-22 – The Sabbath may be defiled by buying, selling, and trivializing the Sabbath by ordinary worldly activities.
[15] In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.
[16] There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.
[17] Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?
[18] Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.
[19] And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.
[20] So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice.
[21] Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath.
[22] And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.

Matt. 12:11-13 – Jesus illustrated in His life the joy of doing good on the Sabbath.
[11] And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
[12] How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
[13] Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

Mark. 2:23-28 – Jesus provided for the physical needs of His disciples on the Sabbath. The Sabbath is an illustration of the God who provides our needs.
[23] And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.
[24] And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?
[25] And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?
[26] How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
[27] And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
[28] Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Ex. 16:28-30 – When some of Israel worked on the Sabbath attempting to gather and prepare manna neglecting to make arrangements on the preparation day, Friday, God openly rebuked them.
[28] And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?
[29] See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
[30] So the people rested on the seventh day.

Matt. 11:28-30 – The divine invitation is to come and find rest in Jesus.  Each Sabbath provides us with an opportunity to renew our commitment with our Lord.
[28] Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
[30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

19. State of the Dead

Jn. 11:11-14 – Jesus compares death to sleep. The Bible compares death to sleep over 50 times.
[11] These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
[12] Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
[13] Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
[14] Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

1 Thess. 4:15, 16 – Those asleep in Jesus rise at His Second Coming.
[15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Jn. 5:28, 29 – There are two resurrections (life and death).
[28] Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
[29] And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Gen. 2:7 – God created man out of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. God did not put a soul into man.
[7] And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Eccl. 12:7 – The body returns to the dust and the Spirit returns to God. The Bible does not say the soul returns to God, but the Spirit.
[7] Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Job 27:3 – The Spirit is the same as God’s breath of life or His power.
[3] All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
Ps. 146:3, 4 – When the breath or Spirit returns to God, the thoughts perish.
[3] Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
[4] His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
1 Tim. 6:16 – Human beings do not have immortality, only God does.
[16] Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Rom. 2:7 – We seek for immortality. The Bible uses the word soul 1600 times, but never once uses immortal soul.
[7] To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

1 Cor. 15:51-54 – We receive immortality when Jesus comes again.

Ps. 115:17 – The dead do not praise God.
[17] The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.

Acts 2:34 – David did not ascend to heaven at death, but awaited the coming of Jesus and the first resurrection.
[34] For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Ps. 6:5 – In the grave there is no remembrance of God.
[5] For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

Eccl. 9:5 – The dead do not know anything.
[5] For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

Job 19:25, 26 – The righteous will be resurrected to see God at the Last day.
[25] For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
[26] And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

Ezek. 18:4 – The soul (person) who sins will die!
[4] Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Rom. 6:23 – The wages of sin is death. Death is the absence of life. The gift of God is eternal life.
[23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2 Tim. 4: 7, 8 – The apostle Paul awaited the coming of the Lord for his final reward.
[7] I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
[8] Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Rev. 22:12 – When Jesus comes His reward of eternal life will be with Him.
[12] And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

17. Faith

Heb. 11:6 – Without faith it is impossible to please God.
[6] But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Rom. 12:3 – God gives a measure of faith to every man.
[3] For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Mk. 11:22-24 – If we exercise the faith we have, mountains of difficulty will be removed.
[22] And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
[23] For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
[24] Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Rom. 10:17 – Our faith is increased as we hear God’s words.
[17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Heb. 11:1 – Faith is the foundation which supports our entire Christian experience.
[1] Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb. 4:2  - We are benefited by God’s word as we apply it to our lives.
[2] For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

1 Jn. 5:14 – Faith is confidence in God which leads us to do His will.
[14] And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Lk. 5:20 – Faith can be seen. It is manifest in action.
[20] And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
Matt. 17:20 – Little faith, as a mustard seed, can grow.
[20] And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Eph. 2:8 – We are saved by grace through faith.
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Rom. 1:5 – Grace leads to the obedience of faith.
[5] By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

Gal. 2:20 – The Christian lives by faith.
[20] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Heb. 6:12 – Through faith we inherit the promises of God.
[12] That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Jas. 2:17 – Faith without works is dead.
[17] Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

1 Jn. 5:4 – We overcome the world through faith.
[4] For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

The Bible makes it clear to even the casual reader that God loves us and sends his angels to be ministering spirits to the lost sinners he gave his son to save. God so loved the world that he gave us Jesus Christ to die on the cross in our place, so that whosoever calles upon his name might be saved. John 3: 16

He longs for each and every one of his children to answer the door of their heart as he knocks, seeking entrance into a relationship with them. Do you know God? Why not say a prayer right now, and ask him to forgive your sins, and come into your heart? That's all it takes, and he will answer your prayer.

Jesus said, "I am the resserection and the life". He was crucified on Friday, rested in the tomb on Sabbath Day, and rose from the dead on the first day of the week! He's Alive! Because he lives, we will live on the day of judgment and be ressurected when Jesus comes again!
