It’s the Journey With Jesus

Tom rides with the Christian Motorcyclists Association and Adventist Motorcycle Ministries. Rallies, toy runs, poker runs, bike blessings, Sturgis, Daytona, Rolling Thunder. He hands out books and tells people what Jesus did for him.

“Skulls really aren't so scary anymore.” Golgotha means “the place of the skull.” That's where Jesus died. Bikers didn't own the skull. God, the Creator, did, and as Tom says, “I'm taking it back for Jesus. Period.”

Tom and Debbie rode Route 1 all the way down and forty miles into Mexico, through a tunnel cut in a redwood on the way. On the California coast they sat and watched the whales. Tom:

“God's love is like the ocean… He casts our sins into the depths of the sea. And then God puts a little buoy on top of the water that says, ‘No fishing allowed.’”

Near the Grand Tetons a part fell off Tom's bike. Two bikers he'd told about Jesus the night before came along and got him to a shop. Three days later Tom and Debbie rolled into Devil's Tower late at night, hundreds of tents, park anywhere. They pitched the tent and went to sleep. In the morning the tent next door was the same two bikers.

“God must really want you to be talking to us.”

Tom got their email and kept encouraging them.

Every year Tom rides down to Daytona for Bike Week. He's out on the street. He talks to bikers, and when one wants Jesus, they pray right there with the motorcycles roaring around them. He hands out a little book made for bikers, The Ride of Your Life. Get a case and hand them out yourself.

A big tattooed biker at Daytona told Tom Jesus wouldn't want anything to do with him, look at all this ink. Tom said:

“Piercing saved my life. Jesus was pierced in seven places. He doesn't care about all that ink. He loves you just the way you are.”

They held hands in the middle of Daytona, bikes roaring all around, and that man prayed the sinner's prayer with tears running down his face.

A biker in South Africa had the Bible Biker emblem tattooed on his own arm after a Rev It Up outreach there.

Tom has preached biker funerals, one of them with five hundred people there. He asks, “How many Sabbaths would I have to preach to reach that many people?” If you need a pastor who rides, email Tom.
